Blast in Karachi

DAWN

KARACHI, Oct 18: Over 125 participants of a procession led by former prime minister Benazir Bhutto upon her return to the country lost their lives on Thursday night after two powerful blasts rocked the slow-moving motorcade edging its way past the Karsaz bridge, on Sharea Faisal.
I saw the news in the morning. 135 people have died. more than 500 are injured. I felt a great surge of sadness.
Few days back there was a blast in a Ludhiana Theatre. Many people lost thier lives.
Be it India or Pakistan, lives are precious. Wherever in the world such tragedies happen, they destroy not just lives; they shaken people's spirit and give a dangerous blow to human spirit.
Isn't there a better way to deal with our grievances ... I hope there is!
I am a non-believer, but tonight I'll pray to my non-existent gods to bring sanity to the world.
